ABOUT THE OYSTER HOUSE RESTAURANT

"Welcome to the Oyster House Restaurant, established in 1983. We strive to create a place where stangers can become friends."

The Oyster House Restaurant is a family owned and operated establishment. In 1992 Pat Miller, her husband Robert Miller, and son Robert Miller Jr. decided they had enough of the hustle and bustle of the New York area. They were lured by the charm of this old Florida town and untamed nature surrounding Everglades City. Since purchasing the restaurant in 1992, they acquired three surrounding businesses, and now own 9.5 acres in Everglades City directly across from the world-renowned Everglades National Park. These include an Observation Tower (with a spectacular view of the Gulf Coast), a combination Deli and Liquor Store, and Glades Haven (a campground site).

Facts of the Everglades...

  • This area is the home of the Seminole Indians.
  • The Movie "Just Cause" was filmed here.
  • This is the Stone Crab Capital of the State.
  • 375,000 pounds of stone crab claws are processed annually.
